Another weekend come and gone. Another start to a new week. This was our second weekend in a row without any commitments, which I again welcomed with open arms. Next weekend starts baby shower/bridal shower/reveal party/wedding season, so it was nice to lay low.
On Friday, Princess Matzo Ball had her lady bits removed, and just as I knew she would, she did fantastic. I got to pick her up that night, and when I saw her sweet little face peering up at me, I was flooded with relief and guilt. I was given pain medicine for her to take at home, and right before we left, the vet tech put one of those protective cones around her head.
Remember in How The Grinch Stole Christmas when Grinch ties antlers on Max, poor Max faceplates into the ground? That's pretty much what my poor Princess MB did. She was so drugged up.
She looked so stinking cute. And pissed off.
The vet said to expect Princess MB to lay low, and just rest for the next few days. I get her home, let her out of her carrier and expect her to plop on the couch so I can snuggle her and spoiler her rotten, and...
Bat. Shit. Crazy.
Seriously. She looked like Lindsey Lohan after a night partying at the Chateau Marmont. She couldn't stand up straight and was walking into walls, then running in circles trying to get the cone off her head. I was afraid she would split her incision open. She was clearly so out of sorts, and she was breaking my heart.
Am I a bad mother for taking pictures?
Trying to get the cone off
I give up
I kept waking up over night to check on her, and Saturday the Hubs and I relaxed. I made a kick ass dinner in the crock pot, we had some hot tub tubby time and I was in bed by 10:30.
Sunday was another lazy morning, then we went to Hubby's brother and sister-in-law's house for his brothers 47th birthday.
Yep, that's right. 47th birthday. Hubby and his brother are over 15 years apart, and he is 10 years younger than his sister. We call Hubby a "Gift From God." Or as my mother-in-law tells me, "we got drunk one summer night in Sea Isle playing cards with our friends."
And 9 months later came Baby Hubby.
It was nice to see family, but the side effects from my infusion are starting to kick in. We didn't stay long, and I went off to relax and watch E! Live From The Golden Globes Red Carpet.
Ahhhh, award season. One of my favorite times of the year. I live for the gowns, the shoes, the jewels, the glitz and the glamour.
So for the most part, I have to say, none of the fashion really wowed me. I felt most of the gowns were either really safe or just downright ugly.
What the hell was Jennifer Lawrence wearing? Her bosoms looked like saggy versions of Madonna's cone bra ta-ta's in the Vogue video.
Jenny From The Block was wearing a few strategically placed doilies.
Giuliana Rancic. No. Just no.
Lea Michelle would have looked beautiful had she not been vying for the role of Snooki's Jewish twin sister. Did she bob for apples in a barrel of self tanner?
Sienna Miller. No. Lucy Liu. No. Debra Messing. No.
Amanda Seyfried. Ew. Rosario Dawson. Boring. Kaley Cuoco. WTF was with that makeup???
Jodie Foster... did I miss something with that speech?
Claire Danes, thank you for NOT doing your ugly crying face.
I'd have to say the best dressed were Adele, Jennifer Garner, Amy Poheler, Tina Fey
I heart Salma Hayek... stunning!
I think the men won, as most of them were looking so very dapper and delicious!!!
Jon Hamm. Yum. Bradley Cooper (robbed!) Break me off a piece of that. George Clooney. Like a fine wine. Ben Affleck. Always a winner in my book.
Mark Wahlberg. You are a super star. John Krazinski. Adorbs. Denzel. Oh, Denzel. Hugh. Perfection.
I didn't actually see any of the movies. I really wanted Bradley Cooper to win because he is a local Philly boy and I was bummed he lost.
My favorite part was the cameo from President Bill Clinton himself. I love him. Not in a Monica Lewinsky kind of way. But, I heart him. He's so charismatic.
OK, it's not going down in the books as the most exciting weekend. Can't lead the charmed life all the time.
Linking up with some of my favorite girls...

Happy Monday!

I did the same thing when Kitty Purry was fixed. I took tons of pictures of her sad self. So if you are a bad cat mom then that makes me one too. :p
ReplyDeleteGlad she is doing better!!

Deleteohh no!! those pictures are so sad.
ReplyDeleteand i didn't see the award show, but looove Salma's dress!
Sorry for laughing, but I totally giggled at MB's spayed-ness. So darn cute!
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday, Marla Jan!
Your poor kitty!! But, I totally would have been taking picture, too. haha
DeleteI missed the globes last night, but will be checking out the best/worst dressed lists on yahoo.
Oh Princess MBHBB, the cone of shame. I'm glad she did okay!
ReplyDeleteI wrote my Globes post last night, it will go up on Wednesday! I loved Jennifer Lawrence's dress from the front, but I think I phrased it "borrowing one of Madonna's cone boobs" from the side. Awkward.
