What. A. Weekend.
Oh my, I had one of those weekends that made my heart (and my belly!) so full of happiness. It was cleansing, for lack of better words, like all bad feelings were washed away and I felt revived and fresh. Chicken soup for the soul; the kind that makes you take a step back and be thankful for all the amazing people in your life. Long overdue to say the least.
Friday night was our Glitz & Glam Girls Nite In!!!!
Brie and I had been thinking about planning a girls night on the town in Philly for a group of friends. Instead, Brie came up with a brilliant idea to hire a chef to come to my house. Hubby and I just decorated the dining room, we have the hot tub, and we figured we would be more comfortable at my house instead of crammed into a crowded, trendy restaurant.
Yes my friends, for the same price as a night on the town, you can have a chef and server come into your home, cook a gourmet meal, serve you and your guests, and CLEAN EVERYTHING UP!!!
Best. Idea. Ever.
Like, ever.
I LOVE entertaining guests in our home, but doing the cooking/cleaning/setting up completely stresses me out. It was wonderful to sit back and relax with the best gals I know and enjoy ourselves.
The food was what my dreams are made of, the wine and beer flowed freely, the conversations became more inappropriate by the minute, and the laughter infectious. This group of gals couldn't be more different, but we all got along swimmingly.
I haven't laughed that hard in A LONG TIME!!!! Just what the doctor ordered.
I blinged out wine glasses for my girls!
Spent a few hours glueing on Swavorski crystals!
The chef has arrived!!!!!!
Brie LOVES not having to cook!

Waiting for more gals to arrive
Chef Mark hard at work!

We love Chef Mark!!!!!
Wasabi crusted filet mignon with edamame dumplings, roasted potatoes and a red pepper stuffed with cheese and spinach in a pool of Szechuan teriyaki
Feeling good
At one point during dinner our conversation went from silly to downright inappropriate. Brie said she could hear Mark laughing from the kitchen. I can only imagine what him and the server's (I feel terrible, I CANNOT remember her name) conversation on their ride home was like!!!!
Gourmet chocolate and peanut butter cupcake with ice cream
The Girls, Chef Mark and our KICK ASS server!!!!!
We LOVE Chef Mark!

Her name is Genesis and she's even nicer than she is beautiful. Sometimes, I hate her, too <3
Hut tub tubby time!!!!!!!
I wish I could say I remember ever single detail from Friday night. But, the truth is, I drank an awful lot of pinot noir!! So some things are a bit fuzzy.... Hubby said it's a good thing we have such understanding neighbors. Apparently, 8 women (most of them drunk) make a lot of noise in a hot tub.
BBC FOREVER!!!!
Please excuse my Prednisone Gut
What an amazing night.
Luckily, Hubby put me to bed with a big bottle of water and some Advil. I didn't feel bad when I woke up the next morning, so we ran out and did a few errands. And around 11am, my hangover set in.
I laid in bed all day with the cat. Gosh, a few years ago, I could drink all night Friday, wake up and do it all over again on Saturday. NOT ANYMORE!!!!!!
Saturday night we had a few friends over and played this game called Cards Against Humanity. It's exactly like Apples to Apples, only REALLY REALLY off the wall and politically incorrect. It's so wrong.... yet, so right. Another night filled with laughs and good times with good people.
And no drinking for me!
An example from Cards Against Humanity
Sunday, Hubs and I slept in til 8:45!!! I know, I'm not much of a sleeper. We made a yummy breakfast, and relaxed the day away.
We went to our friends Bill & Bridgette's house to watch the Super Bowl, and it was night number 3 spent with some wonderful peeps and delicious food!!!
I was disappointed in the Super Bowl, I wanted the 49ers to win. But, it was certainly an interesting game (how many people do you think will be fired tomorrow morning after the Super Bowl Blackout Heard Round The World?!?!?!) and Beyonce brought it during the halftime show.
It is now officially Monday. The weekend is over. I'm still so full from having such a kick ass weekend. So, I'm off to bed with a happy heart and a too stuffed tummy. Hope you all had fabulous weekends, too!
<3
