“We spotted the ocean…”
Happy FREE Iced Coffee Monday!!!!!
OK, so that might only be a thing in this area, but, a few weeks ago Dunkin Donuts put coupons in the Sunday paper for free iced coffee on Mondays in March and April. And I was all over that.
What a fabulous weekend, filled with seeing some of my favorite people and going to one of my favorite places on the planet.
Lupus wise, this is the best I’ve felt in a few weeks, but sadly, that will come to a screeching halt because Thursday is my infusion. That’s what sucks donkey lips about these infusions; once you’re feeling good, it’s time for the next one.
The weekend started with my usual Interview With The Vampire i.e., going to LabCorp and forking over 9 huge viles of my blood. I think I’ve discovered the cause of my iron deficiency anemia right there, folks. I really should have MD after my name.
There are new phlebotomists at the lab I go to, and since last week when I went I
was a condescending asshole
gave constructive criticism, I decided to smile and let him do his thang.
Since I have the veins of a dehydrated four year-old, he checked each arm 3 times before he picked a winner. Every time he wrapped the tourniquet around my arm he said, “don’t mind my hands.” It never crossed my mind that he may be trying to cop a feel until he brought it to my attention that he wasn’t.
Have at it, bro. Have. At. It.
Imagine what his excitement would have been when I was 40 pounds lighter and had hair.
Friday afternoon, Kristin and I went to the happiest place on earth, Ocean City, NJ. There is something about the beach, the boardwalk and the salty ocean air that brings down my blood pressure. This is the perfect time of year for me to go because it was warm enough to not wear bulky winter coats, but cool enough that I could be fully covered and not sweat my balls off. It was a gorgeous day.
The best pizza in the world. Don’t argue with me.
Birch beer + plain slices = Happy Belly (Good Friday, indeed!)
Dippin Dots- The Ice Cream of The Future
sadly, it has not caught on after 20 years
Then we headed over to Atlantic City to go to Ripley’s Believe It Or Not. It wasn’t exactly the heads-in-jars kind of shit I expected, but we managed a few laughs and, as always, kick-ass photo ops.
This guys wife had it pretty easy
HELP! Killer clam!!!! (oyster?)
Throne. Of. Love.
I have the maturity of a six-year-old.
Saturday was another gorgeous, amazing day. Warm enough to sit outside and soak up the fresh air, yet cool enough to be covered. Spring is almost here.
Well, technically it IS here, but warm weather is just around the corner.
We went out to celebrate our friend Brian’s sister Katies 30th birthday. I was living large and drank seltzers with a lime twist all night. I’m finally getting used to being the sober one.
I am a cheap date these days.
Home in bed by 12:30! I miss my
drunken obnoxious crazy, silly days, but there sure is something nice about waking up without a hangover!
Easter Sunday. I ate my weight in Starburst jelly beans and we had a last-minute dinner at my house with Hubby’s family. I may or may not have accidentally turned off the oven but kept the timer going in the middle of heating up all the dishes.
Giada I am not.
God bless microwaves.
I love him. And that pink bow tie.
Happy Phillies Opening Day!!!!!!
Love you all!!!!
